It's the J-Class for Cambria Cambria, the largest Fife afloat, better known for her controversial carbon topmast - is leaving Mediterranean waters and heading for the Caribbean. She's been accepted by the J-Class Association to race under J-Class rule. Her first challenge is Antigua Classic Week (15-20 April 2004) against the newly launched 'Super J' Ranger, Velsheda and Shamrock V. Pete Mandin, skipper of Cambria, said of their departure: "We hope we'll be welcomed back in a couple of years." Whether this depends upon a change in attitude to carbon from within the CIM or a new topmast for Cambria, we will have to wait and see...
