Team GBR Morning briefing

Monday 16 August

The north easterly Meltemi wind is expected to continue for racing on Monday. It is a strong and gusty offshore wind which can create tricky conditions for the sailors. Temperatures will be similar to Sunday, around 30 degrees.

Theyr chart is predicting a F5 to F6 or 16 to 26 knots. In relatively flat water most of the boats will be flying along, especially the 49ers and 470's. One things for certain; there will be some very exciting racing to watch whilst the Meltemi wind blows!

Also, on a separate note, the race committee have 'thrown out' the first men's Mistral race from yesterday morning as everyone sailed the wrong course. The race committee apparently finished the fleet a lap early.
