Racing postponed at Skandia Cowes Week

Light winds at Skandia Cowes Week this morning have caused the committee to postpone racing, with the delay currently set for one hour. As a result, the Open 60 Round the Island race, which was also to have been joined by super maxis Skandia Wild Thing and ICAP Maximus, has been changed to an out-and-back race to Poole Bar, with a committee vessel accompanying in case of further course alterations.

The wind at Cowes is currently west-north-westerly, with a mean speed of around 5.7kts. As the day progresses it is expected to back into the south-west and strengthen to around 15kts, promising a good afternoon's racing at Skandia Cowes Week.
