Fish kills motorboater
Tragedy struck a boat trip in the Florida Keys when a woman died after being hit by a flying fish. Judy Kay Zagorski was standing in the bows of the boat, travelling at around 22 knots, when she was struck by a 34kg stingray which leapt from the water.

"Out of nowhere, a spotted eagle ray pops up in front of the boat and collides with the victim," said a spokesman for the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission. "There was nothing anybody could have done in that situation."

Investigators believe that the woman died instantly from blunt force trauma. The ray, which had an estimated wingspan of nearly 2 metres, also died.
