New life for giant hovercraft?
Two giant hovercraft, which were withdrawn from cross-Channel service eight years ago, may be reactivated. Reports from Canada suggest that the 325-tonne hovercraft may be acquired to operate a car and passenger service across Lake Ontario.

The Princess Margaret and The Princess Anne have languished in the Hovercraft Museum at Lee-on-the-Solent since being replaced on the Dover to Calais route by fast catamarans. Each SRN4 hovercraft is powered by four Rolls Royce gas turbines, and they still hold the record as the fastest cross-Channel ferries.
