Ugly boats threatened with legal action
Legal action has been threatened against the owners of 'ugly boats' on the River Thames at Maidenhead Riverside. Councillors have unanimously agreed that an injunction should be applied for to get unsightly boats removed from the council-owned island Bridge Eyot, opposite Chandlers Quay.

The Royal Borough wrote to the owners six months ago asking for the boats to be removed, but not one has been taken away. "The boats have become a blot on this idyllic landscape," said one councillor.

Here at MBM we love our ugly boats, and here you can see May's entry into our ongoing Ugly Boat Competition, taken by Jane and Paul Curran in Oslo, Norway. There's no winner as such, just a joyous revelling in all things ugly. To see a picture you've taken of an ugly boat in MBM, send it to stewart_campbell@ipcmedia.com
