Ellen unveils mural at National Marine aquarium

Dame Ellen Macarthur unveiled a huge Whale Mural at The National Marine Aquarium in Plymouth yesterday.

Named 'The BLUE Whale Mural', it aims to raise awareness of marine life conservation and global water issues, the painting covers 150 square metres and forms the 97th mural in the artist's Whaling Wall project. The other murals are in places as far apart as New Zealand, Alaska and Hawaii, as well as the mainland USA.

The unveiling followed an week of activities themed around marine life and climate change on Plymouth's Barbican with The BLUE Project and it's founder, yachtsman Conrad Humphreys, designed to inspire and motivate the South West's young people to become active in reducing their impact on the world's climate and oceans.
