Opal Marine MD on office closure rumours
Opal Marine boss Mark Cavendish has confirmed to MBM that moves are underway to restructure the company following the termination of its partnership with Legend Yachts.

He added that as a result of this "mutually agreed" parting, the company, which was formed from the wreckage of Peters Opal, was "reviewing the possibility of closing offices", but would not be drawn on which sites are up for the chop.

The company, which has offices in Chichester, Brixham, Swanwick and two sites in Spain, would go ahead focusing on its "core motoryacht brands" of Azimut, Rodman and Mainship, Cavendish said.

Redundancies would result from the loss of Legend Yachts, but just how many and from which offices remains unknown.

A fuller statement from the company is expected tomorrow evening.
