Free raffle to win rare S&S board games
In 1968, yacht designers Sparkman and Stephens produced a board game which takes each player on a yacht race around the world. The game comes with 360 game cards, each with six questions on topics such as seamanship, yacht equipment, navigation and yachting trivia. Each sailor plays with a 2in-tall pewter yacht, each a classic S&S design. The playing board represents the world as viewed from the North Pole.
Yachts move around the board game upon correctly answering the questions presented. Board spaces are represented by ‘waves’. Racing yachts can only occupy blue waves while white waves can only be occupied by cruising yachts. A log is included to keep a record of competitors, dates and margins of victory.
While searching through its archives, S&S unearthed a handful of the games in brand new condition, in the box and still wrapped in cellophane. Two of these will be raffled to lucky winners.
