Have you seen this stolen boat?

A Cornish Yawl has been stolen from a swinging mooring off Mylor Yacht Harbour, Falmouth.

Staff at the yacht harbour noticed the boat was missing on Saturday 12 July and once they had established that it had not sunk, contacted the owner, Frederick Rhodes, retired, from Truro. Mr Rhodes then contacted the police and the Coastguard.

The boat Susanne, is 9.75m long with a black hull, red antifouling, white decks and with two varnished wooden masts. The brown/red sails are numbered CY25, the hull is number 24 and the Yanmar 10hp diesel serial number is 8227.

Falmouth police have posted the theft on their website, and anyone with information should call: Crimestoppers on 0800 555111 quoting crime reference GP/08/1917.

The report states the boat had enough fuel on board to travel more than 200 miles, a range which includes northern France, the Channel Islands, the Solent and south Wales.

Devon and Cornwall police told PBO this was certainly an 'unusual' crime, and suspect the boat may have been stolen to order.
