Inflatable breasts could be shipping hazard
Boat owners may face an unusual hazard over the next few years in the form of inflatable breasts. A container load of the boobs being shipped from China to Australia was found to be empty on arrival this week in Sydney, fuelling fears that they may have been washed overboard.
Some plastic ducks from a shipment lost overboard in the Pacific in 1992 washed ashore in the UK 15 years later, so the maritime mammaries could eventually follow them towards European waters. They might pose a hazard if sucked into water intakes, and seafarers are advised not to try to use them as lifejackets.
The inflatable breasts, worth around £100,000, had been intended as a free gift in the Australian adult magazine Ralph, and the editor has urged anyone with information to contact him.
