Last launch for Shoreham
Shoreham lifeboat house has seen the last launch in its 75 year history. It will also be the last slipway launch for Shoreham's 47ft Tyne class lifeboat 'Hermione Lady Colwyn', which will spend the next 14 months permanently afloat while the lifeboat house is demolished and replaced by a new state-of-the-art lifeboat station.

The new facility will be able to accommodate a new Tamar class lifeboat, which will be the first to be stationed on the south coast. The total cost of building the new station and the 16m lifeboat is expected to be in the region of £6 million, but, said Coxswain Peter Huxtable, "The reward of a first-class lifeboat station is priceless."
