Boat Details

**Price Reduced**Huge refit. Our pain, your gain* After living aboard for 1.5 years of fantastic family adventures through the Mediterranean, across the Atlantic & exploring the Caribbean it is time for us to return to land life & our jobs. We were very particular on the boat we took our children across an ocean on & have been very happy with our choice. Our main criteria was a strong seaworthy boat that was comfortable to live on for years & had reliable recent equipment. She represents a bargain with this specification & is ready to go again. We are currently enjoying Grenada for the hurricane season. A great location to start your adventure with the easy sailing in the iconic Caribbean.

Drakkar is from 1987 when boats were built strong. All systems & equipment have been modernized for the best of both worlds. She is 46 feet / 14 metres long giving extra waterline length for higher average speeds, easier motion on the waves & excellent living volumes. Our top speed is 20.4 kn surfing Atlantic rollers on our lovely crossing.

Four double cabins & two heads has been an ideal layout. Everyone including our guests have had plenty of space, even with four adults & four kids on board! Two heads are better than four as you get reasonable sized heads & half as many through hulls & plumbing issues.

Motors are recent enthusiastically sized Volvo 55hp with 1,500 hours & run like clockwork. We have not touched the extensive & expensive Volvo Penta OEM spares we bought other than routine maintenance. Motoring cruise speed on one engine is 6 knots at 1,700rpm using average 2.7 l/hr helped by her feathering J-Props. We have done 11.2 knots at wide open throttle with both engines!

She is set up to be self-sufficient with 600 litres of water & 360 litres diesel capacity. The solar panels will run the water maker, cover all loads including fridge & inverter & still be charging the batteries.

See details below for ages of equipment and refit

Our blog is available for videos, more details on the boat & the full story of our adventures.
