Boat Details

Shamu is a classy classic feel cruiser built by Hunter Boats in the the UK in 1994 and delivered to the first owner in the Netherlands in 1995, she has only had two owners and has been extremely well looked after by the current owner who has had her since 2002. She has sailed all around Europe and the UK, there is almost no island that she has not seen. She received osmosis treatment back in 2001 and shown no signs since. The original engine was replaced in June 2009 with a Beta 14hp and has been serviced every year. Lots of documentation for a work etc. is available.


Technical – Key Dates

Built by Hunter Boats in 1994 with hull number 24. Delivered 1995 to buyer in the Netherlands.
Under the previous owner osmosis treatment was carried out with a guarantee. There has been no sign of osmosis since I have owned the boat.
Last survey was done in the Netherlands at the time of purchase by current owner in 2002.
The original Yanmar 9hp engine was replaced in June 2009 with the current Beta 14hp heat exchange 2-cylinder diesel. The engine has been serviced every year and has now reached 577.4 hours.
The standing rigging is the original from 1994. Running rigging has been replaced at various times. Main halyard and topping lift 2009. Reefing lines 2012.
The mainsail and cruising chute are the originals. The jib was made by Arun Sails in Bosham in 2009.
The stackpack was made by Arun Sails in Bosham in 2007. 
The original Houdini hatch was replaced by Gebo hatch 2009.
The sprayhood was made by Owen Sails in Benderloch by Oban in 2013.
The main anchor is a Manson Supreme 11kg purchased in 2012. The original Harbourfast anchor has been retained as a kedge.
The Plastimo 4 man liferaft requires a service before use.
The Icom IC-M411 DSC VHF radio was fitted in 2009.
The Kannad Solo Personal Location Beacon was purchased and registered on the EPIRB database in 2011. It should be re-registered in the new owners name.
