A kite surfer was rescued by the RNLI after he was spotted clinging to a buoy in Exmouth.

A member of the public ran to Exmouth lifeboat station to raise the alarm after the local man’s kite became tangled.

When the lifeboat arrived on scene minutes later the crew saw that another kite surfer was trying to help the man but making slow progress.

The crew took the man back to shore, who was tired but otherwise well.
