Meeting up with the in-laws tonight as they are staying in Heathrow for a stop over, and thought it would be nice to take them somewhere close like Windsor for a meal tonight. Anyone got any suggestions. Nothing to expensive, something like a gastro type pub will probably do.
thanks in advance for any tips
"Browns" in Windsor is good. Right by the river...

have eaten there before a few years ago and wasn't to impressed. we always eat at Browns in Covent garden and really like it there, but found the one in windsor not as good - although may have just been an off day.
have looked at the George Inn (high st Eton) and the Riverside (by the bridge on the windsor side) on the web, have you ever been?
Gilbey's in Eton High Street has usually been good. Dunno about prices these days.

Seconded, with a good range of well kept beers to accompany the meal. They are very relaxed about children without letting it be a kiddy pub.
Hi, this might help.
Don Beni Pizza and Italian opposite the castle in windsor. Specials are special, cheapish to medium.
Another is Antico in Eton High St. just over the bridge if walking from Windsor. This is a sister ship to Don Beni (same owner) very, very nice not cheap though but worth a visit. Great surroundings, you can look at all the old stuff around the walls for hours.
Don't want to sound like an advert but they are clients of mine and I ONLY visit them on a routine basis. They are very clean and safe! /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif
