well, planning to be by Saturday. The final snag (I hope) - bought a new laptop, bought a new mobile phone with infra red link etc. only to discover that it isn't compatible with an XP machine. So much for the salesman!

'Ware Nokia - check the software supports xp before buying.

Other than that, all going to plan.

Thanks for the help, advice and support. Will log in again somewhere towards the end of June.

Good luck Cynthia, fair winds to you. Is there not an update available on the nokia website for uploading to your computer for XP? they seem to be on top of it most of the time.

Fair winds Cynthia. We hope to be away at the beginning of July but we still have bits to bolt on the boat. We love living on her though. She is dressed overall today (Jubilee) and looks really pretty!

You may be able to download updates for XP on the Nokia website - I did sucessfully for my Nokia cardphone.

How about a serial cable? IR can be a bit dodgy sometimes.

We have just succeded to retrieve our mail with a Nokia 6210, infrared link to laptop with windows xp,on AOL for 10p/min, is this of any use??
