View Full Version : 12V TV/VCR Combis
Hi,
Can anyone recommend a 12V PAL TV/VCR combi suitable for being afloat?
Cheers,
Tim
Dont recommend it at all!
1/ you can only record the channel the TV is on, no watch one prog whilst recording another.
2/ If the VCR needs repair you lost your TV too!

I take your point, but isn't the power comsumption greater for two individual units?
Tim
Yes it is but if available power is that critical, buy the TV, sort out the power, then buy your VCR....good things come to he who waits! <G>
You might like to take a look here: http://www.roadpro.co.uk/products.php?catid=1226 and elswhere there is a lot of helpful info.

optimax from comet. 12 inch colour, quite good. plays videos nicely etc. Also i have one spare. Any offers?
I Finally gave in this weekend and agreed we can have TV/video on the boat. Is this combi a good option, if so how much and where are you?
Tim
You would be better going out and buying an inverter (make sure it is both smooth enough and powerful enough), you can then buy a cheaper tv and also use it to power other mains equipment on board, such as power tools etc.

Been trying for two days to think of a reason for having one at all. Sorry but I give in.
