View Full Version : Wiltshire/Avon/Gloucestershire meet?
There seem to be a few of us now? and now I've left the fold of the Wokingham meet and they are growing to bigger and better things, I feel we should at least challenge them a little.
Probably too big an area for regular meet, but we can start it off same way Wokingham meet started with larger area, then organise smaller local meetings.
At last, a forumite wanting to meet somewhere sensible
Wilts meet confirmed.
Next Wed, 4th July. Jolly Huntsman, Kington St Michael
This is just off J17 of M4, next to Chippenham
All welcome!

How will we recognise each other? All wear our yellow wellies?
I'm easy; I've these prominent droopy ears.....

I'll be the one picking a fight with the regulars. Jimi will have a teacosy on his head, and the barman will be struggling to understand his dialect. Chris will be the one with 9 pints lined up in front of him as he's taxi'ing not driving

I'll be standing at the bar smoking a joint ;-)
I'll get there early then! I haven't passed a spliff around in years! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
Do the new laws ban smoking of cigarettes only, or just anything that gives off smoke?
A great evening, thank you all, good first Wilts meet. Even Parahandy came from Oxford, though he was enroute to the boat on south coast, but stayed until the bitter end.
Just found this for the first time, thanks to BrendanS. If anyone would like to meet in Bristol I would love to be there. The Miners Arms, St Werburghs, one minute from the end of the M32 would be my suggestion. Good beer and a quiet bar to chat. I'd be happy with other pubs though. Just need a bit of notice.
Allan
Its funny in California - certain gigs you see plenty of spliffs going around, but if anyone dared to light a cigarette, they were shown the door /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

It was good to meet everyone, thanks to Brendan for organising, sorry bout the pub singer ! Thanks to Jimi for giving me a lift home last night
Bit of a *******ing from the missus last night as I had left my house keys in the car, picked up car this morning after a punishing journey over every pothole in christendom in missus's sporty car.
Promised I would not do it again /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif
When's the next one ? /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif
Though the pub singer made conversation a bit more difficult, he was actually pretty good! Hope it wasn't too much of a *******ing, and you are allowed out for the next one
Ouch .. ma heid hurtz .. good evening and great to be smoke free;-)
BB tried to attend, but went to the wrong pub. I'll give him more detailed instructions next time
In the meantime, I want to go to the gigs Rickp does! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
You should see the lighting up when they start up with this song (http://ia301121.us.archive.org/3/items/ymsb2007-06-20.sbd.flac16/ymsb2007-06-20d2t08_64kb.mp3). (Yes, it is called "2 hits and the joint turned brown").
This is another one (http://ia340925.us.archive.org/0/items/ymsb2007-04-22.sbd.flac16/ymsb2007-04-22d2t09_64kb.mp3) which gets the audience glowing...

Bit of a worry that an ex-RAF navigator can't follow simple instuctions to a pub!
