Hi, found your question on the web, re MFV Merlin. I have a boat that was called Melin, and it would appear to hail from Port Erin, Isle of man. skippered by Dennis Maddrel i think, then his son, She was formally called Harvest Moon. and would appear to have been a seine netter.
She is scottish built, posibly summers, noble?, approx 38' and 12' beam drawing aboat 6', straight stem post ( verticle) Had been registered B146 (bangor, Belfast). was re-engined with a gardner 6lw in 1960. I have owned the boat for 6 years. would dearly like to make contact to find some history about her.
Original name: Harvest moon
Renamed: Merlin
Present Name: Harvest Moon
can be contacted by email dfunipower@googlemail.com

Hi Harvest Moon.
gd7hej doesn't seem to have posted since 2004, so may well not see your post. If you wish, I'd be happy to ask friends on the IoM if they know anything of your vessel.

Hi MacD.
Thank you for looking, I would be grateful if could ask a few friends as i'd love to know the history of my old boat, I did omitt to say she was built in 1950, and the original engine could have been a kelvin of some sort. I have seen photo's online of harvest moon in port Erin if you google Harvest moon port erin you will get them, looking forward to a reply David
