Would love to, but we have a family wedding so I am not allowed to come out to play that weekend /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif
Many thanks Dougie /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif very much looking forward to it
MrsT25 may change back to the dark side but I think we'll end up with a compromise /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif but who knows /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif
Hi Dougie
We may be there, on way to lowestoft on sat then onto Holland, but if weather gets bad we will potter down to Shotley so you may see us depending on the weather
May see you there
ian
Sounds good to Amanda and I so may well see you there, will make a nice weekend trip from Bradwell. Isnt Shotley in a lock ? I have HW at approx 1700 and is that why you suggest 1400, or have I got this completely wrong and made myself look even less professional than Im not /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
Ian
Not sure of exact plans but this will be start of 2 weeks holiday.
provisionally:
Shotley for 21/22.
Lowestoft off shore during days or possibly an anchor overnight 25-28
25/26 = Lowestoft air show.
27/28 honda formula 4 stroke powerboats
then holland for a few days....could be several boats from Lowestoft to holland. poss depart for holland 27th after PB race.
roompot....zierkziee.....willemstaad.....??
Doug
Alan
Shotley is locking but open 24/7. VERY friendly and has fenders/cleats in lock for very easy access....i did it first time single handed recently.
dont have tides to hand but as a quick mobo they dont usually bother me too much. my timing is based on leaving lowestoft on 11.15 bridge lift.
Look forward to meeting you
Doug
Saw your boat a couple of weeks back Alan , looking forward to you being on her this time /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

I was sorry to have missed you all at Bradwell and this weekend is a boys trip to the Orwell. Her gracious majesty has agreed that, should the weather be warm and fair, we will join you in Shotley next weekend /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
The forecast is cold and wet /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif
Ever the optimist, I hope to meet some of you soon.

If you are in the Orwell this weekend with no plans, then how about heading for Stone Point in the Walton Backwaters, and joining us on the beach Sat evening for a BBQ and a few drinks?

Morgana - I have read with interest the pirates weekend stuff and hope that you all have a great time. I'd like to be there but this trip has been arranged for a long time - I'll put it to them. I'm sailing with friends who have a boat in the Thames (Leigh Ray) and only ever sail one tide and never sleep on board or hardly get out of site of their mooring. I'm trying to encourage them to journey so marinas and good food and booze are a feature! If we turn up then don't tell them I posted this!

i'm wondering what the current consultancy day rate is for us East Coasters to charge the rest of the forum in order to share our expertise in how to organise social get togethers with great effect... /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
It certainly seems to be one of the specialities in here /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif once Dougie has checked and confirmed with the weather string and stone , I shall pack the bags /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
You recall my weather forecasting method very well sir..... /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif
Contingency plans have been made should the weather not be suited a to a light weight mobo /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Still needs a little more progress with some more mobo's
but i'm working on it............ /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif
Perhaps some variation on drying moorings might interest some.... /forums/images/graemlins/ooo.gif
even think DAKA might be persuaded /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif
just as long as no one suggests Lowerstuft YC as a meet /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif
I recall using the same methods to great satisfaction in the past /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
and Shotley would be perfect for the Mobo contingent to join in , all marina berths and good onshore facilities too /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

And Mr and Mrs Moodysailor - if the weather is half reasonable (and I can convince Mrs M that it will improve over the weekend).
At the moment my seaweed is looking a bit limp /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif
