I went to this place when it was Peculiars Bistro - didn't like it or the atmosphere but now Lindsay runs the show and it is called Landers. I have really enjoyed mant evenings there - the staff are helpful efficient and friendly. The food is good. The bar is well stocked and reasonably priced. Lindsay deserves to suceed through the right attitude and hard graft.
Give it a try folks I would be very suprised if you don't agree with my recomendation.
A watering hole of this standard has been long overdue in Gosport so if you enjoy it then support it - hope to see you there.

I'll give it a try, Clavers.

Where exactly is Landers in relation to Campers?

I ate there on Saturday night and was not impressed. The table had been booked for 19:45 they rang our hosts back an hour after making the booking to say they had made a mistake and could we manage 20:15.. We arrived at 20:15 the table was not ready and they seemed in disarray. The meal was expensive and not particularly good. Maybe it was a bad night but I will not be bothering again.

Pete

Jeremy, it is part of the Haslar complex.

Dear Peter

I am sorry to hear that you did not enjoy your experience at Landers on Saturday 28th September 2002. Unfortunately I was not present on that night. Having spoken to the staff they have explained that the night became a lot busier than anticipated as the chance bookings far out weighed reservations and this placed a strain on staffing. I have looked at the situation and rectified it for the future. I apologise for your bad night and would to offer you a meal on the house to assure you that this is not qa normal occurrence.

Please phone 02392 588810 if you would like to book your meal on the house. Once again many apologies.

Best regards

Nice bar staff, nice atmosphere when busy. Been a couple of times for a drink but yet to try the restaurant, but with listening management it sounds worth a go.
