View Full Version : CHANGING BOAT NAMES

30-03-01, 02:49
If you buy a boat which has just been repainted - no name - and that owner (former owner not traceable) did not have a name painted on the hull but generally referred to it at times as "Miss Katey" or "Big Blue", nobody else did call it that not even his wife, then you wish give the boat a different name is this unlucky?

What is the correct method of renaming in order not to offend the boating Gods?

Careful with replies as there may be a witch doctor on this forum and remember the West Indies is Voodoo country.

On the other hand maybe I've had too many cocktail "Zombies" at the bar.

If the boat's been repainted and the former owner is untraceable, it's only unlucky to change the boat's name if it doesn't stop the former (legal) owner finding you!

The gods will be pleased with you for giving the poor dear a name of its own, choose wisely.

Have the same problem, however have heard that the bad luck curse does not count if you change the name out of the water !!
