Is there a way to get more than 20 threads per page?

I have tried altering all sorts of items within the UserCP, but still only 20 per page.

Not as far as I'm aware. We can change the number of posts per page but not the number of threads. You're not the first to ask that.

I'm afraid that's something we control in the admin and not a user option, what would be your preferred number of posts shown?

I know your question was to the OP but in the old place :spitsonfloor I used to have it set to something like 50 threads. To be honest I'd OK with anything from 40 to 60 ish.

Another vote for a minimum of 50, or thereabouts, please.

I would prefer 40 but 50 as a max would be OK

Any more and it would become difficult to follow on my iPhone

As the original OP, I'll go along with everyone else and go for 50.

20 and having to paginate is a bit of a pain - just to see that there is only one extra over the page.

10 for me please. I can't be bothered with lots of scrolling.

The issue about making large numbers of posts or threads available, is that it will take longer to load, hence people complaining the forum is slow, and also will have a bigger impact on the servers. Just a thought.

100 threads or posts per page would be best for me

When I select a forum I get basically text only, so the page is quite quick to load. It's loading a thread that takes time, if there are lots of photos etc.

So presumably 50 threads on a forum page shouldn't slow things down to any obvious extent?

If you're on a broadband connection displaying 50 or 100 threads will take no time at all. If you're using a slow mobile connection then it obviously does slow it down - and can cost money if you're paying by the megabyte.

Personally I think 20 posts is fine if it has to be a fixed number.

On threads, I can turn the pictures off so so problem.

The change to 40 looks a good compromise Dan. Many thanks.

If you're using firefox, you could install AutoPager (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/4925) which sort of does what you want. As you scroll down it pre-loads the next page and tacks it on the bottom.

Means you don't need to keep hitting 'next', you just scroll.....

Just installed it, and excellent. Many thanks.

There are some clever people compiling for Mozilla.
