Heard a relays Pan Pan (couple of days ago) message frm Spanish MRCC MOB from a sailing vessel did not catch the name.

Asking all vessels to keep watch for the MOB

They did not give a position for the incident can only think either a boat adrift no one aboard or someone on watch gone over and no one aware????? hence no position.

Have searched the web but no news good or bad anyone heard anything

I can't see any conditions where a MOB would be a PAN PAN.

By the time you are on the radio for a MOB it is most definitely a MAYDAY.

I agree

I suspect that it was called in as a mayday from the vessel but then broadcast to all ships to be on the lookout as a pan pan

we had just passed through the area and certainly made me think long and hard about someone going in the water.

Hoping for the best but without a position in the MRCC pan pan fearing the worst

It is the coast radio station making the pan pan call asking all vessels in the vicinity to keep a lookout.

Round here its not infrequent and the broadcast will be kept going every few hours untill the search is called off.
