Does anyone know of sites devoted to ex-lifeboats converted to motor / sailing boats? My own is an ex-liner tender/lifeboat (twin diesel) of 1954 vintage named 'Barnacle' moored on the Thames at Henley. Any help much appreciated.
I'm moored about six boats back. I'll come and have a word when I next see you.

I don't know of any websites, however if you want to get in touch with the ex-lifeboat movement I strongly recommend you get in contact with Simon Evans.
Simon 'collects' lifeboats and what he doesn't know about them is not worth knowing. Simon is based in France (although back and forth like a Yo yo) and has a boat building yard which specialises in, yes you guessed it; lifeboats.
I have my 1931 wooden Osborne motor yacht moored there, and as well as the huge collection of lifeboats there's also a selection of fascinating craft.
Contact Simon on 00 33 385 653 466 - let me know how you get on

Well my darling "passed survey" today, so after the dosh comes in I shall be shopping for a Watson or Barnet. I'd buy "Baltic Air" tomorrow but the price is unrealistic.
Please mail information on anything of interest.
