small get together over toasted teacakes and sherry. bit of a chin wag and swapping boaty type tales (for those you with decent boats) and some new and original excuses why some of us STILL haven't sorted our boats out!

so if you fancy a pint (or even two) get yourselves down to the quay at wareham, for saturday lunchtime. neap tides all weekend, no speed limit in the harbour, and no river cruises... so loads of room to moor!

any probs or for more info PM me, ring on 07833 983074, or drop me an Email.... fast.monarch@ntlworld.com

see you there. steve.

I thought it was a YES! All seems to have been done on the other forum, dunno why.

I'll be there on Saturday, about lunchtime.

As far as I could tell from the other we have,

Duncan, with boat
BendanS, with boat
Geoffs, with boat
Lynda
BarryH
Aztec.

Not as big as last year, but a quarum. Looking foreward to Italian on the Quay, Saturday evening.

Duncan's a no - Lynda started another thread, and he's registered there, that after the raggie trip last weekend, his presence is expected at home.

I've just seen, no Duncam won't be the same.

Looks like just you and I with lumps of GRP then. Hope you can make or I'll be on my own on the water/forums/images/icons/frown.gif

I should be there, as long as conditions OK, otherwise I'll come by car. Need to get down to boat early to put a new strap on the bathing ladder.

Said I'll be there. Can't bring the boat though. Gotta tow the caravan back home to the farm for the winter. We won't be using it this winter. The Lookout has no space.

Steve

May well be there with full boat of family and friends. Probably launch at Rockley then easy amble up the Frome Saturday afternoon. Will not stay overnight and will leave late afternoon.

Does anyone know at what time after low water (10:37) it will be possible to get up the river?

Jon

Hi Jon,it's neaps so you should be ok for all states of the tide. Gets a bit shallow at Redcliffe, just watch the depth and lift the drive a little. Similarly by the abbey just before the quay.See you saturday.

Looking like an F5 eaterly on Sat & Sun. A bit of a blow, I should be OK just running out from Poole, but from Lymington????? Well, I wouldn't fancy it!

You are forgetting that Brendan has recently been strapped to the wheel of a yacht with waves breaking over him.

He also uses the same principle in his Regal apart from the fact that he straps himself to the windscreen, which is why it so often comes loose.

Incidentally according to onlineweather only forecasting F2/F3 easterley on Saturday although don't tell Brendan because he won't come.

Oh, I'm sure Brendan is much braver than I, just saying I wouldn't fancy it.

Yeh, and the BBC are forecasting lighter winds on Saturday, but everyone else F5.You takes yer pick. Be OK in the harbour up to the Frome, though.

Geoff/Jon and Brendan if he comes by boat. When you get passed Ridge Wharf and up to the stretch to Redliffe, there's leading marks on the bend. Keep them in line or the front mark to the right of the back mark, but not too far, you'll be ok and in the deepest part of the river. The other shallow bit is just opposite the Priory Hotel gardens. Apart from that you'll have enpough water all the way to the Quay at LWN.
The front mark is a red pole and the back mark is a red/white pole.

Priory Hotel......that's want I meant when I said Abbey. Priory, Abbey, I knew it was something like that, and the bottom is a bit nearer the top there!

I was out in an easterly F6 last Sunday, but not sure I fancy the trip back all the way to Lymington on the Sunday in an E F5. I'll have a look see how the forecast pans out over the next 24 hours, but may well come in the car

Where's that pluck from a couple of weekends ago then, battling in F7 against 4-6m waves? :-)

Sorry I can't be there. Will be stuck in Zefender Towers this weekend (and Wareham probably a bit too shallow for me)

Ah! but I already posted elsewhere last night that I'd take the boat anyway! ;)

F7 in 4m waves is a bit easier when you've got a nice big 40' hull under you.......... even if it is only a raggie /forums/images/icons/laugh.gif

Shame you can't come. Put it in your diary for next year. Last year was a fantastic event with a great turnout - probably the first true forum meet, that spawned many of the others during this year.
