View Full Version : St Vaast
where are St Vaasters planning to head to on Friday night? The Fuschias gets pretty full and I guess they'd need bookings .. what do you think?

I think we're staying in and doing our hair...
Seriously, hadn't thought about it but you're right - there could be a fair few of us and it would be a shame not to have dinner together. Some time since I've been to St Vaast so hoping others can offer suggestions?

Fuschias much improved this year so we should aim for there on the Fri night. Will need to book but they have a sep room which may be safer!!!
See you there

Suppose we can book at the start of the week when a weather forecast is available

the fushias is a bit of a palava, and we had fab nosh at erm the oh damn forgot the name but it's right on the marina, south side, furthest around if you have to walk. Bluish building, non smoking restaurant, fab value.

The Fuschias is certainly a bit stuffy, but the food is really good. You wont find better in St Vaast.
The blueish building (I don't know it's name either) has a less stuffy atmosphere and the food is quite good.
Food or atmos..........?
Hope to see all the St V contingent in Cherbourg on Saturday. Don't eat too much!!!

Have you worked out the gate opening times, yet? I haven't had a chance to look, and left the almagnac on the boat.

(Bugger - how do you copy the URL for a specific post onto the clipboard?)

One of the wittier boat names I saw recently - "Blonde Moment"

BTW, did you mean "almanac" (reprehensible) or "armagnac" (downright careless)?
<hr width=100% size=1><A target="_blank" HREF=http://aflcharters.co.uk>Dream Dancer</A>
that's the one. Piles beter value, and i think they have recently nicked the chef from the fuschias, according to Gosselin.

OK, I give up? How'd you manage to get a url of me posting a response while I was still at the boat show? Does this url give the same for everyone?
<hr width=100% size=1>Me transmitte sursum, caledoni
I clicked "post reply" to tome's post with the gate times then copied the url which appeared in the address bar. When I click it I get the post reply page for me posting a response to tome's post.
Can you explain how to identify a specific post so that it can be put in a link?
<hr width=100% size=1><A target="_blank" HREF=http://aflcharters.co.uk>Dream Dancer</A>
Ah! Understand now, it's opening up to the generic response page, so will show ID of whoever opens it.
Anyway, to answer your question, you mean like this?
<A target="_blank" HREF=http://www.ybw.com/cgi-bin/forums/showthreaded.pl?Cat=&Board=cherbourg04&Number=570973&page=0&view=expanded&sb=5&o=7&vc=1#Post570973>here</A>
Click on threaded at top right of page, open the post you want, and copy the url
<hr width=100% size=1>Me transmitte sursum, caledoni
only trouble will be how many will be there for this bit of the trip. They are not big, dont have a seperate room and may already be booked. (That is if it goes ahead, weather forecasts inc depressing reading!)
cheers
Richard

Gottit - I always view flat and didn't think of threaded view. Thanks Brendan.

I'm inclined to take forecasts beyond 72 hrs with a huge dose of salt.
