Switch Panel

I am rewiring and need to install a new 6 plus 2 spare switch panel, at present there isn't one, once the powers on everything is on, switching locally. But looking in my local chandlery Alladins, they only seem to have switch panels for power boats, no twin pole switch for trilight/nav lights, and to buy materials to build seems ridiculesly expensive for what it is. Any ideas?

Compass offer an 8-way panel with circuit breakers but no 2-way switches included [p.185 in their catalogue]. There seem to be very few 8-way panels around. Roger.

I've never come across 8-way panels or panels with double pole switches.

try www.yachtbits.co.uk they do 4-way panels, you could fit two!

Simplest and cheapest to make your own. For the panel use a piece of perspex, lightly abrade the underside with wet 'n dry and spray with matt black from a can. Drill your holes for the switches and mounting, fit your switches and wire up. You will then have exactly what you want in the size you want it to be.

Pleased to see that you are going to use a two-way switch for your nav/mast lights. I would also suggest leaving a bit of space for further additions - there always is. Hope this helps.

Switch panels are passive connecting devices that make it feasible to establish communication between a group of individual parts. Connections from desktops and docking stations, as well as from fax machines or rings run in to the patch panel and then connect with the servers.
