Self-steering gear

Is anyone able to point me in the direction of some simple plans for a self-build servo-pendulum self steering gear suitable for a 27 ft, 5 ton, tiller steered sloop?

Yes get hold of 'Yacht Wind Vane Steering by Bill Belcher. Good plans and an easy to build QME gear. Jay Jay

Have a look, too, at John Letcher's "Self-Steering for Sailing Craft" -- an excellent resource.

Also have a look at back issues (quite a few years back) of PBO; I remember they published a frew articles on the subject john
