Dirty diesel tanks

Hase anyone a solution to cleaning very dirty diesel tanks? Have scraped out brown goo and would like to clean with chemical. Any secrets? Thanks.

I used washing powder & hot water and recirculated with a large pump david

Paul Hire a heated pressure washer and some garage forecourt cleaning fluid. That will realy get it clean with the minimum of work. A hire for 4 hours should not be too expensive.
