View Full Version : Mooring on Norfolk Broads required
I am looking for an alongside mooring for my Seamaster 27 (with stern drive)for this year. Does anyone know of any such mooring that is available.
the old percival boatyard at horning is a good spot. now known as woods dyke boatyard i believe.
Last year, moorings were available at Brundall, and at Burgh Castle Marina.
Brundall Bay Marina is nice, moorings from £80/metre p.a inc.vat
Definatly moorings available, I was there yesterday!
Which area do you want to moor? Northern Broads by far the prettiest with choice of rivers and Broads to visit and narrower rivers. Southern Broads are easiest to access the sea. Central points on Northern Broads are Horning, South Walsham, Ranworth and Thurne. River Ant is very pretty Barton Turf, Stalham but a long distance to main rivers. Give us a clue and I will try and get some phone numbers.
Last time I enquired, there were side on moorings available at Herbert Woods (Potter Heigham) and at Connoisseur Craft at Wroxham. Hope this helps
Brundal bay has moorings it should be empty soon, exspencive.???
Hi Jo
I think I fancy the central and northern Broads for this year. I require an alongside mooring(stern drive) reasonable car access and on site car parking. Any ideas?
Mike
Stern Drives, Legs, are not a problem as a lot of stern on moorings are for 2 berths so you still have a side to walk down just need to spring your mooring rope and the boat wont move.
A few of the Northern Broads moorings are:-
Thurne : The Lion Inn 01692 670796. Horning: Ferry Marina 01692 630392, South Quays Marina 01692 630892, Woods Dyke Boatyard 01692 630461. Wroxham: Barnes Brinkcraft 01603 78265, Powles Marina 01603 783311, Ranworth: Cator Moorings 01603 270280. South Walsham: Russell Marine 01603 270262
Useful Number:- Broads Authority Norwich 01603 610734
Hope this is of use to you, let me know if I can help any further.
Due to Foot and Mouth disease, there are only limited overnight moorings available - all Broads Authority Car Parks etc are closed, and understand that there is a definite possiblity that they will close the Broads in a similar way that they are now closing Inland Waterways!

Hiya,
Best bet would be to ask the guys on these two forums, a wealth of knowledge on the Broads :). You should get a reply within 24 hours or less.

Hi. It's always better to start a new thread with a query as the one you have tagged on to is 11 years old!
People may not get to your question. A new thread will have your question at the top.

Also worth looking at SealineForum.co.uk as this will not only encompass your boat but has a very strong broads section.
