Phone them up a few days before to arrange a time. I think you can get in at HW + or - 2 hours.

Phone no 01481 200800. Also be prepared to negotiate price on the phone.

And yes it seems that no one is interested in telling us where to get cheap diesel but there's loads that moan about how much they have to pay!!

I don't think it is even dyed red in Guernsey, it certainly isn't from Boatworks in St Peter Port. Even with our tiddly sailboat amounts it will pretty well all be Channel Islands purchased after November with any other topups in France.

It's now red, changed a month or so back.

Thanks for that. I guess that means we will need to make sure and keep all receipts after November to avoid being accused of running on heating oil.

What sort of fuel consumption are you getting from the lovely new boat BTW?

Far less than the heating oil requirements, I would guess. It hardly uses any fuel at all. But the heating dont half wollop through it.

I'd just blame the global warming.

Not sure abouit consumption, guessing at about 2 miles ish to the gallon. Will have a better idea whan I next fill up as I now know that all the tanks are full.

It will be interesting to see what it works out at. I saw figures for 2 similar boats in the USA quoting 4gph (but US gallons) at 8kts, one with Ford Lehmans the other with 3208 Cats. What would have been more interesting would be the figs at 7kts, ie a bit more below hull speed, the extra knot is probably very expensive?
