It always seems to go up on Fridays, doesn't it? A friend of mine tries to get down and fuel up on Thursdays - so he's clearly noticed a pattern...

Wouldn't be surprised in the slightest; roadside stations frequently put their price up a penny on Fridays to catch peeps filling up for the weeked. The garage opposite my local rail station does this, and today being a Friday I'd almost put a tenner on the price being up a penny on yesterday.
