I have the Volvo MD21B Engine in need of a new cylinder head. I know the engine is a Peugeot . Does anyone out there know the peugeot part number of the head I am stuck in the sun(Lagos) truly Port Velcro !!!

Hello I have the same engine (Hallberg Rassy by any chance?) I have the workshop manuals and instruction books but cannot see a part number in any of them.
If youGoogle search for Volvo agents the may be able to look up a number for you. Let me know if I can provide more info.

I have all the manuals , but need the peugeot head part number. The engine is based on a 505/504 peugeot diesel . I don't want to pay Volvo prices and it seems to be impossible to cross refer. I was hoping someone had done this exercise before as there are a lot of MD21B's out there. By the way the boat is an Oyster 39

Here is the information you need on the peugeot engine type. Not sure about the car engine ID, but if you find it please let me know as mine is slowly falling to bits.
The MD21B was produced between 1979 and 1981. The engine is indeed
produced by Indenor (Industrie du Nord Est) AKA Peugeot XDP4/90. This was given to me by Volvo the other day, hope it helps.

Just been to collect my new peugeot(volvo) head today. you've guessed it wrong one!! mind you the gaskets looked good. Will try again monday alternative promised. its the laughter that keeps you going.
It would been nice if the sun came out
