...last weekend Liz and I did an 850km road trip around the south Aegean and western Anatolia, taking in Efes (Ephesus), Aphrodisias, Didyma, Pamukkale and Hirapolis.
If you are sailing or plan to sail in Turkey these sights are absolutely essential viewing. Remember Turkey has more Greek ruins than Greece and is frequently described as an open-air museum. This trip is testament to this fact. Somehow, without planning it, we managed to do the whole lot in one weekend without travelling on the same road twice, and our timing was such that we had the whole of Aphrodisias to ourselves!
