Keep masts up?
      #1833564 - 22/04/2008 18:31

Might be mooring for 3months or so somewhere between Sharpness and Gloucester on canal (if we can find mooring!) Am I right in thinking that I would not need to remove masts (36ft ketch) - havent got relevant pilot book yet..?

You can go all the way to Glos in a yacht with mast up, but check with the waterways in case of bridge work going on at the time.

The bridges are all swing bridges. Quite large sailing craft go up to Gloucester via Sharpness with masts up.
