On the move from CBYC
      #1792026 - 19/03/2008 12:28

All the way next door to Cambrian

Message on the answer phone last night to say the white water rafting centre is going ahead and our boat's in the way, so it's got to go to Cambrian for a couple of months. Not very happy with that to say the least but hey ho, I don't think there's anything we can do about it Last time it was there we had the devils own job getting to it when they were closed (the daft plipper entry thing) and personally I don't think it's as secure with the gates being open to anyone during the day. Has anyone had any issues with their boat at Cambrian and security ?? I noticed this morning there was a shedload of river flotsam stuck in between the pontoons there, looked a right old mess and I certainly wouldn't want to motor through it to a berth.

Ho hum

I guess you are stuck - its the council that are forcing the move.

Yup, seems to be that way. SWMBO's been down earlier to check on the boat (we still have a mink squatting onboard) and spoke to Barrie about it, seems they have 60 boats to move !!

When we moved from the old CYC to the new clubhouse about 10 years ago most of the boats including mine were moved to penarth marina during the winter while the moorings were moved,my boats topsides and others were covered with green stuff by the time we moved back, not happy.

Thats a bit of a pain Mike. On a boring note it may be worthwile informing your insurance company about the move.

Yeah, I'll have to tell the insurers, guess it'll be a higher risk there. Still hoping they move us to one of the new fingers they've put in as apparently one of those will be our new berth anyway.
