Was this the boat he circumnavigated in? I was windering wwhether this book, "In Quest of the Sun: The Journal of the 'Firecrest' " was the account of his circumnavigation.

Just bought a copy off Amazon. It's missing the chart (pp15-16) but looks a good read. Thanks for putting me on to it, I hadn't realised he had written a second book after "The Fight of the Firecrest)

SeaRush, many thanks for putting me onto "In the Quest of the Sun"
The fight of the firecrest is a delightful little read. What is it about the French that can write about the sea with such romance? I think you will very much enjoy it.
Mine is an original Penguin minature which is lovely (although falling apart). I can photocopy the chart if you like - not that clear as it is a small copy.
