Where is "Freckle"?
      #160404 - 14/09/2001 09:27

Does anyone know whether a 27'-6" plywood motor cruiser called "Freckle" is still afloat? She was designed and built by Kenneth M Gibbs at Shepperton in 1957-8 and powered by a single cylinder Lister diesel. Unusually for a Gibbs boat, she was more like a little hard-chine MFV than his normal launches or cruisers of the period. She was listed in Lloyds Register of Yachts for a few years with a home port of Weybridge. If anyone thinks they can help I can supply a photograph as an Email attachment (Freckle.TIF); please email to SMR@yacht-designer.co.uk for a copy of the file. The original owner of Freckle is now 85 and has been searching for information of her for some time - can you make an old man happy?
