I`m looking for a Bedding material to seal semi-permanent items to the fiberglassed ply deck of my East Anglian(items such as stanchions, jambing cleats, autohelm pivot, windlass, fairleads and grabrail, ventilator etc. on the coachroof). Some of these are mounted directly others on a wood or metal backing plate. Previous owners had used Sikaflex type materials which bonded so well they took the sheathing of the deck when they were removed. What is available in the general market - it seems to me that the building industry have very similar problems / environment to contend with and solve them at a fraction of the cost of any thing marked "Marine". Forum comments please on expirence good and bad. What about low modulus silicon ?
