Anyone know how to close those banner ads that hide the text of this forum's threads? I can't find the little X thing and they're driving me nuts!

Are you logged in when reading. When you are logged in, ads are reduced. If the ads are obscuring threads, then there is probably something wrong with the setup of your computer, as they certainly don't obscure any threads when I read on my computers. What ads are they? and where are they positioned - the other possibility is you have malware on your computer that is causing banner ads to appear that have no connection with this site.

I have this problem too - drives me barmy. It's the long sky-scraper banners that hang down the right hand side of the page, but sometimes end up hanging over and blocking the text. Mega irritating, to the point I end up logging off. Grrr
Still end up crawling back though...can't keep away for long.

Like Brendan I dont see these. If I log off and read logged off I get an ad down the RHS for Plastimo at present but it does not overlap the forum area. I think it would if I was viweing on 800X 600 resolution though.
I cant post, of course, while logged off. The ad does not appear when logged on.

I have had this problem, but have started using a portable version of Firefox (stored on a USB stick) with Adblock Plus and NoScript plug ins. Problem solved and demonstrably faster than IE7.
