Would it be possible, when a PM is received, to email the message to the receipient? At the moment we get an email notification but not the message itself
If the same could be done with outgoing PMs we wouldn't need to store any messages except for short term (say up to 6 months) to cater for people being away

good idea. Not being able to archive pm's easily, and having to delete possibly useful ones when you need to clean out to make space in a hurry, is a real pain.

Does anyone respond to this forum, or are we just talking amongst ourselves?

I'm just lurking, i choose not to receive PMs notifications by email as i check in every day - not to mention tha fact i never receive any anyway seems pretty pointless in my case, but whatever floats yer boat

it's not pm notifications, it's getting the pm in full by email.

Agreed. PMs are useful for security until you have established the bona fides of the other party then it's easier to take it to email anyway. Can be a real pain for me when I have email but no browsing to know that there is a PM and nothing I can do about it.
