I am not sure whether the WMO states that pots should be marked clearly or not becuase I have never seen one until it nearly underneath me.

A black flag and a light at night would be the two things that should be made law if they arent already, if they are already required I think these pots should be reported as hazards to navigation to the relevant authrority which I guess is the Coast Guard?

Last summer cruising in the West Country we had to keep a constant pot watch whilst sailing near Salcombe and at Dartmouth.
