Southampton Water / Bald Head

You may well know already but there are a number of black 1 gallon oil containers "marking" pots at least 2 cables west (offshore of) Baldhead. This is right on the approach to hamble point from the east. So at least yachts are now equally in jeopardy east or west.

Also see Southampton VTS document re pot marking on Scuttlebutt, it appears that there are now regulations and if they are not enforced I think it appropriate to all write to VTS to complain/identify/shame.

As this area is predominantly a lee shore you should make sure that you have a contingency plan if your propeller gets snagged...........................
