Heading east from Cabo Santa Maria (Faro) at 6.7 knots motorsailing we heard and felt a loud crash and lost power immediately.
Sailed the 25 miles or so back west to Vilamoura. Got towed in from the marina mouth as they dislike people sailing along side. The following day Carlos the diver removed about 15 kgs of horrid orange rope. It had obviously swamped the rope cutters! No damage done and we were on our way - after the fog had lifted!
