Trip to South of Spain (a few pics)
      #1844782 - 02/05/2008 08:19

We just got back from a holiday to south coast of Spain.

As we had a few rainy days we drove up and down the coast and I had to please the wife by stopping in most marinas along the way.

We spotted 'Diane' in Puerto Banus (a new 43m Benetti, featured in the latest Boat International).

We also spotted this SS 37m in Sotogrande:

Her name was 'Tickled Pink'

Anyway, this was moored on the other side of the marina:

This Mochi in La Duquesa was a bit special. Newish looking boat but severely damaged. Interior was in the same state as the exterior. Does anyone know her story?

Excellent use of fenders. They'll not get all scuffed and dirty.

To be fair, there was one empty berth between the wall and the boat. It doesn't show on the pic.

Hey were you following me? We were in Dequesa a couple of weekends ago and took a car ride to Sotogrande. Saw the boat 'tickled pink' but it didn't have a name on it when we saw it also didn't realise it was a sunseeker? couldn't see a makers name on it anywhere. It looks brand new and with 6 jetskis in the back I bet it'll be a lot of fun staying on board.

Did you see Suncoast whilst in Dequesa?

that Mochi is a 22.50 Axis

it was the last new model presented in 1997, before the yard went bust in 99

that photo shows a flybridge missing and also many details, might have been one of the not complete mouldings bought over before Domintor took them up...

Yes I cruised into Soto and saw the new sunseeker, could'nt see the name either. The sad looking Mochi in Duquesa has been there since I arrived in 2002. I know the owner. A very very long term labour of love project, dont thing he will ever fnish it. I heard it was one of 11 built and one of the many that had a fire aboard dont know whether thats true for sure.

During last years festival when the fishing boats take the vrigin Mary out to sabi and back, lots of us go out and follow the floatila. Ths sad looking Mochi trundled out , so the engines work, loaded with Spanish folk doing a very smoky 4-5 knts.

Had I realised that you were there I definitely would have contacted you (and KevB). As said, would have been nice to meet a member of this forum live.
