I looked at a boat that had been treated witht his stuff and they say it is good for ten years. I find that difficult to accept. Does anyone have any experience of this stuff. Not sure of the brand name, just a type of antifoul that has copper "dust" in it. Does it work and if so how long is it really good for?

As we keep on saying over and over again. It is marvellous, mine is 11 years old and still OK.

When you pressurewash it its like new but so is antifouling.
When you lift it it is worse than antifouling for growth?
Work it out on £'s shillings and pence and then what works, it does not.

PCUK, do you have a couple of boats or are you saying you have used coppercoat on your steel boat? I thought that this was not recommended 'Table of Metals' and all that. Interested to hear your comments

I mixed my own with 35 micron copper dust. Yes it worked. This year i bought EU45 from Spain and it is laced with the stuff. I aim to report back here with the results later in the year.

You're supposed to re abraise it with wet and dry to show new copper, not jsut jet wash it.
It cost me £600 all in to coppercoat my boat 2 seasons ago and I recon I'm already quids in due to not having to lift it out for long periods over the last couple of years. All I do is pick a nice, sunny, warm day. Anchore in shallow water and walk round the boat with some wet and dry.
Not including the massive averall cost saving, coppercoat has out performed normal antifoul as far as crowth on the hull is concerned.
I've had both standard antifoul (tried all different types) and coppercoat and coppercoat wins without question.
