After weeks and weeks of waiting for a let up in the bad weather so we could Coppercoat Nirvana, last weekend provided the chance.
Tried the idea of using tarpaulins and a space heater without much success.

Your boat looks good with her new coat. What you going to do with shiny new space heater!?
I more or less gave up with fan heaters and just warmed up KeelGuard as I stuck it on.
I am finishing off anti-foul today and have all but given up on the idea of taking her down to Bradwell for Easter as I haven't even been aboard since she went on the stands, so nothing is prepared.

Popped down to see how you were getting on at the weekend, but boat was done & you'd gone.
Looks good. Almost made it feel like the sun was shining as we walked by! Be interested to see how you get on with it.
Good vid by the way.

I'll keep the space heater. I'm sure it will come in handy some time in the future I'm going to put a 2" blue stripe over the top part of the coppercoat (above water line), hopefully when the copper goes green it wont look so awful.
Because we had to wait for a bit of decent weather to put the coppercoat on, the boat has been out of the water for almost 5 months!!! Can't wait to use it again.

Found the site to host the pictures this morning. It's very good and best of all it's free. The slide show is done automatically on the site. No effort from me.
Unfortunately here at work the firewall doesn't allow us to view many photo sites. More often than not I don't get to see the pictures posted on the forums.

glad you are making progress - will look really sharp I think.
I'm not - the fibreglss repaair man sorting out damage is halfway through (still), the boatyard no longer has water or power anywhere near me so I cant jet wash the drive prior to a good prime and trilux, the (old) powersteering pump is at home in a bag, BarryH has the toneau cover but don't know if he's managed the zips yet and about the only thing I am going to be able to progress is af the hull over the weekend.............
will be thinking of you all out on your boats!

So, what is the advantage of copper coat?

Well I'm hoping that it will mean I only have to jet wash the bottom for the next 10 years rather than all the hard work of antifouling.
I think I may have to give it a light rub with wet and dry once a year to show a new layer of copper.
As it's epoxy based I assume it also gives some protection to the gelcoat also?
