I am looking for a Moody Eclipse 33 and rather preferred the one with a 43hp engine. I was told by a broker today that in fact the 29hp and the 43 hp are exactly the same engine except that the 43hp has a turbo charger fitted to it and only gives an extra half knot anyway. Is he correct?

From my memory of this boat it had the 2 engine options but it was the larger engine that would give it more power for motor sailing into head seas etc or so the reports said at the time!!! Great yachts tho!!! Even the designer ( Bill Dixon) owned one for a time

Why set your mind on 43 hp? 43 horses is quite lot for a boat of that size. We only have 40hp on a 39 foot boat that weighs 12 tonnes and its more than adequate.
